The Snozone 1116 Challenge for Sense
12th April 2021
Snozone has for many years now partnered with our chosen charity Sense. The charity supports children and adults who are deafblind and / or with complex disabilities to join in with life, connect and make friends.
During the country’s third lockdown, our team at Snozone took it upon ourselves to set personal challenges to run, cycle or walk 1116 miles and raise an equal amount of £1,116 in aid of Sense, between February 1st - March 31st 2021
You may be wondering why we chose that number? The figure of 1116 represents the number of tonnes of C02 that Snozone will be saving this year since changing our electricity supply to 100% renewable energy - and what better way to mark this industry leading achievement.
With the challenge accepted, our team proceeded to log all the exercise they undertook during the weeks that followed, with exercise regimes fully aligned to Government guidelines. We were determined a global pandemic was not going to stop us from reaching our goals and we found in quite a short time that we had in fact, exceeded our original £1116 target!
This naturally meant that we stretched ourselves further and set a newer, higher target, which we did through raising the bar to 3,000 miles and in turn, generating £3,000 in fundraising.
On the last day of the Challenge, we achieved an amazing 3,643 miles and raised £3,213.00! We are so proud to have been part of such a brilliant demonstration of teamwork and commitment from everyone involved, which has also been recognised by Sense.
