We are supporting this week’s Deafblind Awareness week, and Snozone Yorkshire now has a dedicated ‘donation station’ ready and waiting for your kind support, so please do go and investigate any way in which you can contribute toward this very worthwhile charity by donating your unwanted clothing and apparel. All donations will be given to the charity shops run by Sense to help support their fundraising efforts.
Their aim this year, is for everyone to share the story of deafblindness with at least one other person, elevating awareness, understanding, spreading the word, and learning how we can make life easier for those affected.

Snozone supports Deafblind Awareness Week!
29th June 2021
Snozone are proud to continue its ongoing support of the charity Sense (www.sense.org.uk/), an organisation committed to those with deafblindness, a combination of sight and hearing loss that affects an individual’s ability to communicate, access information and experience the world around them.
27th June – 3rd July is Deafblind Awareness Week.
Also known as Dual-sensory impairment/multi-sensory impairment (MSI), it can take the form of not just being blind and deaf, but also sensory processing issues where the eyes and ears function normally, but the brain has trouble filtering, organising, and interpreting the stimulus received by the senses.
In their own words, Sense describe their commitment to supporting those with complex disabilities: ”We are here for every person living with complex disabilities that can make it a challenge to communicate, access information and take part in life. We are specialists in providing the individual, tailored support people need to lead a fulfilling life”. An estimated 390,000+ people exhibit these conditions and it is estimated to almost double in less than five years.
Snozone has held a long standing belief that Snowsports should be accessible to all, and are the only indoor real snow slope in Europe, where we have our own trained and qualified, highly experienced, and dedicated disability coaches with our bespoke adaptive tuition, along with innovative and specialised equipment, that train to all levels from beginner to national team athletes.
